I got this charger for around $12 which was the price of the previous model (without battery). I had had that model for while and saw a good opportunity to upgrade since I found I was always running out of power, especially when geocaching in the field. It does what it says, charges well and then can charge in the field. I don't know how long it will charge just on battery, but I don't run out of power any more.
