Bentley is a rambunctous GSP who is very exuberant. Riding in a car was always a challenge. I love this harness for him and use it in both the car and as a walking harness. It does not pinch him over the front legs and cause skin irritations and tags like the other harnesses that are in front of his legs did often. The other harnesses actually cut into him over time and caused irritations.
This harness has the soft side over his chest and and hooks in the back; not causing any extra pulling on his neck. It is a snap to sit him safely in the car and he loves the ride now and doesn't jostle about.
I would recommend this highly for any kind of pet travel. The large fits my dog well and he is a medium sized dog. It seems to be cool enough in the summer; and can fit easily under sweaters or outer dog wear; you can slip the back hook out from under most dog apparel and still hook from behind; because the harness is amply long in the back.
This has been such a help in short and long distance travel. I would highly recommend it especially if your beloved travel companion will not stay put and sit still in the car. It will help keep him safe as well as the driver.
Note: It seems like there are not many available here; I purchased mine at Petsmart and they are readily available there as a back up option.
